Apartments for Rent In NH
In the state of New Hampshire there are a few large cities: Manchester, Nashua, Concord, Portsmouth, and Rochester. There are quite a number of apartments for rent in NH. You'll find that many of the buildings in these cities are older and may have been remodeled or converted from large single family homes. Another popular option is converted mill buildings that provide more of a large community living experience with amenities like pools, fitness centers, and meeting rooms. It all depends upon what you prefer but there should be plenty to choose from.
There are also many multi-family buildings available that were made exclusively for the purpose of a multi-family dwelling. Most of these properties contain 3 or more units and some of them will have as many as 12 units.
If you are looking for less of a "tenant/rental" environment then you'll most likely want to find a single family home or detached condo to rent. Don't worry, as there is usually ample homes available to choose from. Many times they are provided by owners who have relocated and cannot sell the home or by investors that may be interested in offering a rent-to-own option. Either way there should be many nice homes available without the commitment to purchase.
As a landlord and former renter I would recommend that people who are considering shopping for NH rentals that they first determine the location they want to live. You'll want to figure out what your total budget is including all expenses for the home, including heat, electricity, parking, TV, internet, use of water etc. Many times rental properties will include some or all of these utilities so make sure you find out in advance which ones come with the lease. Then you'll want to determine the neighborhood you want to live in. It's much easier to weed through the plethora of available apartments after you narrow things down a bit. After that it's a good idea to interview the owner or management company to find out how the building issues are handled. If at all possible, talk to some of the tenants in the building to see how they like living there. This will give you a good idea if the owner/landlord is responsive and if there are any other issues like crime, or trouble tenants in the building.
There are some great apartments for rent in NH it's just a question of finding the right one. You may want to consider enlisting the help of a real estate agent who will help make the search easier on you and typically know the local & state laws and are familiar with the neighborhoods. Most of the time their services are paid for by the owner so there shouldn't won't be a fee from the agent. Good luck!
